But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

The Holy Spirit has attributes of God

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

Eternal: The Holy Spirit is eternal having no beginning or end: Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,so that we may serve the living God!

Omni-Potent: The Holy Spirit has all power: Luke 1:35  The angel answered, The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.

Omni-Present: The Holy Spirit is everywhere at the same time: Psalm 139:7:  Where can I go from your Spirit?  Where can I flee from your presence?

Omni-scient: The Holy Spirit is understanding:1 Corinthians 2:10-11: However, as it is written: ”No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit who is from God, that we may understand what God has freely given us.

The Holy Spirit is a constant continual power

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

The Holy Spirit is a continual source of power that builds and builds on the inside of us.  It is tearing down walls and rebuilding them.  All of the transformation that occurs within us is for the Gospel and for the building up inside of us to lead others to Christ.  To lead souls to heaven, a footstep, a stepping stool that builds and builds.  There are many ways that the Holy Spirit will feed our souls.  It will be different from person to person.  Be open to God’s voice and his Holy Spirit.

The Bible is the only source for true direction

Saturday, August 1st, 2009

The Bible is a text book with black ink with writings.  How do we make the Bible become alive in our hearts?  We need the Holy Spirit to manifest itself within us in order for the Bible to become alive.  The Bible along with the Holy Spirit becomes a wellspring in our lives, a constant well of water that never stops water pumping.  Water is necessary for our human life as well as spiritual water is necessary for our Spirits.  The Bible and the Holy Spirit is a nest, a safe haven, a refuge.  The Bible is inspired by the Holy Spirit when it was written and it is full with the Holy Spirit who will minister to your Spirits and feed your Spirits if your Faith is activated.  The Holy Spirit is what fills our temple, breaths God given breath to forming us.

Lord, we ask that you enliven our Spirits.  Fill our Spirits with the God given breath from the Holy Spirit.  When we open up our Bible Lord let the Holy Spirit stir up.  Stir your Spirit within us.  Lord let the Bible be a source, our source of true direction activated by the Holy Spirit and faith as our pillar, our water to nourish our Spirit.  We ask this in the name of Jesus.  Amen.

Love through the Holy Spirit

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Romans 5:5 talks about God pouring out Himself into our hearts through the Holy Spirit until our love for others conforms to His love for us. This will transform our natural love into supernatural love. James 4:5 says that the Holy Spirit acts through us to the degree that we allow Him fre reign. When we operate in the Holy Spirit and love in the Holy Spirit this will bring a love transformation into our lives affecting the lives of others through love. The Holy Spirit is a gentleman and will not force us to do anything. Over time the Holy Spirit will give us the fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22.

Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit-We find Him revealed when He descended like a dove as Jesus was being baptized by John. Then, before our Lord ascended to Heaven, He promised to send us the Comforter so that we would not remain orphans. The earliest reference I think is the scripture saying that John the Baptist was filled with the Holy Spirit while still in his mother’s womb. The most dramatic act by the Holy Spirit that we know of is when he came upon the apostles at Pentecost, 40 days following Jesus ascension. Pentecost is considered as the birth of the Church.
